Linden Welcomes New Urgent Care With Immigration-Certified Doctors

The Linden location is set to offer an array of telecare/telemedicine services, DOT physicals and care from immigration-certified doctors.

LINDEN, NJ - Linden's newest urgent care center opened this week, offering immediate outpatient care as well as Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals as well as official United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) medical exams from immigration-certified doctors.

Located at 1020 W Edgar Rd., American Family Care Linden has been touted as an urgent care center aiming to "bring service and quality care that will benefit the patient community in Linden as it continues to grow," according to Medical Director John P. F. Lopez, MD, MS, NRCME-certified medical examine who also serves as the medical director for AFC Perth Amboy.

The grand opening festivities included appearances from franchise owners Amrish Patel, MD, and Frank Tobias, as well as Linden Mayor Derek Armstead and other local officials and business community members.

“It’s an honor to continue to seek ways of helping the people in our community and provide them with a wide array of healthcare services that best fit their needs in the Union County area,” Patel and Tobias said in a joint statement.

In addition, AFC's Linden location is set to offer a range of telecare/telemedicine services, allowing doctors to provide care virtually without an in-person visit.

“The AFC Linden will be a great benefit to the community,”Armstead said in a statement. “The facility will allow our residents and the surrounding communities to receive direct care without sacrificing the time and money they would normally spend in an emergency room.”

The Linden location is open Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays through Sundays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Click here to schedule an appointment.
