A Face Full of Mace Doesn't Stop Suspect's Struggle

William H. Holliday of Collingswood is accused of aggravated assault after struggling with a Cinnaminson police officer.

William H. HollidayΒ reallyΒ didn’t take well to being put under arrest, according toΒ Cinnaminson Police.

Police stopped Holliday, 36, of the 900 block of Haddon Avenue in Collingswood, as part of an investigation into a broken window of a car parked at Gene’s Motel on Route 130 in Cinnaminson.

Officer Richard Calabrese informed Holliday he was under arrest and the suspect fled toward a motel room and attempted to shut himself inside. Failing to shut the door in time, Holliday tried plan Bβ€”an attempt to tackle Calabrese, police said.

The officer sprayed Holliday with mace, but even that didn’t stop the suspect. According to police, Holliday continued to struggle and resist arrest. Calabrese took Holliday down and held him until back up arrived.

Holliday was charged with criminal mischief from the broken car window, plus aggravated assault on a police officer and resisting arrest. He was remanded to the Burlington County Jail on $10,000 full cash bail.
