Collingswood High School Football Team Set For Playoffs

Collingswood is the No. 7 seed in the playoffs and visits No. 2 Camden this weekend.

COLLINGSWOOD, NJ — The Collingswood High School football team is chasing a South Jersey championship this season. For the first time, the teams that emerge as South Jersey champions will play their Central Jersey counterparts.

Collingswood is the No. 7 seed in the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 2 playoffs, according to nj.com. The Panthers will host No. 2 Camden in the first round on Saturday, Nov. 3, 3 p.m.

The winner will play the winner of the game between No. 3 West Deptford and No. 6 Barnegat in the semifinals on Nov. 9. The championship game is set for Nov. 16, but it doesn’t end there this season.

After the traditional Thanksgiving Week rivalry games, the South Jersey Group 2 champions will play the Central Jersey Group 2 champions. To view the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group 2 playoff bracket, visit nj.com.

Collingswood is 6-3 this season. Two of the Panthers' three losses came to top-seeded Haddonfield, 42-0; and No. 3 West Deptford, 38-0. The other loss was a 22-16 loss to Woodbury. The Panthers won four of their first five contests this season.

Camden is 7-1, with its lone loss coming out of state at Wise (Maryland). It has won seven straight games.
