Collingswood Police Grab Alleged Tip Jar Snatcher

A Berlin man may have been battling addiction when he allegedly grabbed some counter money at Primo Hoagie.

Most people come to Primo Hoagies for their tasty sandwiches, but Collingswood Police say a Berlin man may have had something else in mind that got him into trouble.

On June 17, workers at the Haddon Avenue sandwich shop noted a customer acting suspicious; standing around but not ordering anything. 

Then, police said, he reached into the tip jar, took some money out, and ran out of the store.

Collingswood police eventually located and arrested 34-year-old Anthony M. Guglielmo of Berlin in connection with the incident.

Guglielmo, who police say was carrying drug paraphernalia when they captured him, was charged with a disorderly persons theft and disorderly persons possession of a hypodermic needle.

He was sent to the Camden County correctional facility in default of $1,000 bail.
