Starring Chris Christie: Gov. Lands Sitcom Part

Christie will guest star on 'The Michael J. Fox Show,' premiering in September.

Gov. Chris Christie is taking his Jersey Strong act to the small screen with a guest-starring role on the upcomingΒ The Michael J. Fox Show, the Huffington Post reports.

The Huffington Post broke the news thatΒ Christie will appear as himselfΒ on a fall episode of the show, which premieres Sept. 26 on NBC.

Fox’s new showΒ revolves around a news anchor who puts his career on hold after a Parkinson’s disease diagnosisβ€”the same diseaseΒ Fox was diagnosed with in 1991. In the show, Fox’s character decides toΒ get back into the news gameΒ after several years away.

Christie,Β wearing his famous fleece, tested his acting chops onΒ Saturday Night LiveΒ in November 2012 following Superstorm Sandy’s pummeling of New Jersey. While most of his TV credits are for news programs, Internet Movie Database alsoΒ gives Christie credit for appearingΒ onΒ Cake BossΒ in 2010 andΒ Wrestlemania 29Β in April.Β
