What is Urinetown?

You can find out tonight at the Collingswood Middle School, 7:30 sharp.

Wednesday, July 31 marks the debut performance of the Collingswood Teen Theater Company, an important intermediate step for budding thespians between the youth and adult theater groups in town.

And its first production is an ambitious one: the teens will tackle the dystopian musical comedy Urinetown, a satire of corporate culture, environmentalism and revolution (click here for a synopsis, which includes spoilers!).

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students, and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Collingswood Middle School auditorium.

Urinetown is directed by Collingswood elementary school music teacher John Baccaro (click here for a video of him leading the kids in song at the 2012 elementary school art symposium.)

Won't make the show tonight? Catch follow-up performances Thursday and Friday.
