Cranford Recruits Graduate Union County Fire Program
The 18-week schedule placed them in both drills and a classroom to learn firefighting techniques.
CRANFORD, NJ — Cranford honored four of their firefighter recruits on Dec. 11 as they graduated from the Union County Fire Academy.
Cranford Call Firefighters Jacob Cermak, Michael DeGregorio, Brandon Dipaolo, and Robert Salvatore were bestowed with their Firefighter 1 & 2 certifications at a ceremony held at Union College.
The recruits went through an 18-week schedule that included the basics of nationally recognized firefighting practices through both classroom and drill settings.

DeGregorio was also the recipient of the Ben Laganga Leadership Award, earned by a recruit who displays a noted commitment to public safety and leadership during the course.

"We are proud and happy to welcome these new recruits to our Volunteer Division," Cranford Fire Chief Dan Czeh said. "Graduating this academy is a testament to their commitment to serve the community."
