Beloved Cranford Resident, Math Teacher Dies At Age 83
Marion P. Puglisi of Cranford died on March 2. She was a high school math teacher and an active member of the Cranford community.

CRANFORD, NJ — Marion P. Puglisi, a beloved Cranford resident and retired math teacher, died on Wednesday, March 2, at the age of 83.
Puglisi was born in Ossining, New York and moved to Elizabeth as a child. She graduated from Battin High School in 1956 and received her B.S. degree and teaching certificate from Davis and Elkins College in West Virginia in 1960, as well as her M.A. in mathematics from Louisiana State University in 1967.
She then moved to Cranford and taught high school mathematics at David Brearley Regional High School in Kenilworth.

Puglisi was a member of the Azure Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star for many years and the Atlas Chapter in recent times. She served the Grand Chapter on several projects and held several offices.
She was also an active member of the Cranford United Methodist Church for over 50 years and served in various capacities.

Puglisi was predeceased by her husband, William J. Puglisi and her parents, Frederick E. and Irene B. Partelow.
Surviving are a cousin in Florida, Joyce Knapp, her godchildren, Kim Dickey and Michael Dickey of Westfield, and a few distant cousins and friends.
The funeral service took place on Saturday at Gray Memorial Funeral Home.
