Citizens Receive Basic Weapons Training
Cranford residents shoot hand guns, rifles and shotguns at a firing range in Clark.
As part of their final instruction, Citizens' Police Academy students received basic firearms training from the Cranford Police Department at the Waterson Memorial Range House in Clark Saturday morning.
The students tried their aim with three weapons used by Cranford police: a Smith and Wesson M&P .40 caliber hand gun, a Benelli M-1 semi-automatic shotgun, and a Colt M4 assault rifle. Each student got multiple chances with each weapon after a short weapons safety and how-to presentation by Detective Robert Montague.
