Cranford HS Academy Dance Program to Host Spring Concert May 10

The Cranford High School Academy Dance Program is having an excellent 2013!

In February, the CHS Dance Academy  hosted the American Repertory Ballet Company from Princeton, who set a work on the junior and senior students.  In March, twenty Academy students attended four days of intense workshops, master classes, performances and recruitment at the Regional High School Dance Festival in Norfolk, VA.  While in Virginia, several students were accepted and received scholarships to prestigious summer programs including The Joffrey Ballet, Leon Dance Arts and The University of the Arts Pre-College Dance Intensive. Academy dance piece “Reasonable Doubt” was selected by a panel of adjudicators to perform at the RHSDF as well.  In April, four senior dance students’ original choreography was performed at the historical 92nd Street Y in Manhattan.  These works were chosen from a rigorous adjudication process and were performed on April 7th as part of the Y’s “Sundays at Three” program.

Cranford High School Dance Academy’s Annual Spring Concert will be held Friday May 10th at 8pm in the CHS Auditorium.  All of these works along with other exciting faculty and student work will be performed.  Tickets are $5.
