Cranford Man Arrested for Stealing Lottery Tickets

A township man allegedly stole hundreds of dollars worth of lottery tickets in Roselle Park.

A Cranford man has been charged with theft after stealing lottery tickets in Roselle Park last month.

Vincent Calabrese, 21, allegedly stole $270 worth of instant lottery tickets, according to a report from NJ.com.

Roselle Park Police responded to a business on Chestnut Street after a report that someone had stolen state instant lottery tickets. A follow-up investigation revealed four tickets were cashed in as winners at two different stores, the report said.

Video camera surveillance showed the same person cashing in both lottery tickets. The person was later identified as Calabrese, who was working at the business at the time of the reported theft, NJ.com said.

Calabrese turned himself in on March 25 and was charged with theft. He was released with a summons for a court appearance.
