Cranford Man Moves onto U.S Open Sectional Qualifying Round

Michael Labrutto of Cranford led the field of 114 players in the May 13 Open Local Qualifying round at Haworth Country Club, advancing him to the qualifying round of the U.S. Open Sectional next month.

Labrutto maintained a competitive course record of 6-under 64, carded six birdies and an eagle two on the par-4 16th hold, according to a release from the Metropolitan Golf Association. 

Thanks to Labrutto's 11-year-old son, who convinced him to enter the qualifier in the first place, Labrutto will now participate in his fourth U.S. U.S. Open Sectional Qualifying Round next month.
