Cranford Police Department Earns $6K Drive Sober Grant

CRANFORD, NJ — Cranford is one of five municipalities in Union County to receive the state's Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over holiday crackdown grants.

The state awarded the Cranford Police Department $6,000 to institute a crackdown on holiday driving while intoxicated. In North Jersey, impaired driving enforcement grant funding is distributed through the Year-End and August /September “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” crackdowns.

The proportion of alcohol-related fatalities in New Jersey is 20.7 percent.
