Cranford’s ‘King Of The Wing’ Top Winner For Sale This Week

CRANFORD, NJ - Did you miss your chance to sample award-winning wings from Cranford’s “King Of The Wing” competition this year? Lucky for you, Cranford-area locals are getting a second chance.

2023 “King Of The Wing” Venue 104, helmed by owner Franco Vitella, will be offering their prizewinning Ultimate Buffalo wings from noon to 7 p.m. on March 10 and 11.

Wings may be ordered in trays of 10 for $15 each. Customers should call (908) 272-8368 to order or purchase at the 104 N Union Ave business. Only cash will be accepted. Venue 104 plans to give 5% of the gross sales to Cranford’s Project Graduation.

“It’s awesome to win back to back, but we are all winners in Downtown Cranford,” Vitella said in a statement posted to Instagram this week.

The winning wings are sautéed in white wine, garlic and spicy red pepper flakes before being tossed in buffalo sauce, Vitella wrote.

2023 wasn’t the first win for Venue 104, either. The catering company took first place at 2022’s “King Of The Wing” as well, earning the prize for Vitella’s Italian wings.

The annual competition served as part of Cranford’s Fire & Ice Festival, which also featured exhibits from ice carvers and fire breathers, as well as complimentary face painting, a balloon artist, s'mores and hot cocoa.

“King Of The Wing” competitors this year included 8Thai, Dominos, Urban Burger, Mystic Lobster and Vinny’s Pizza. For a full list of 2023 participants, click here.
