Cranford Takes Home Sectional Title in NJSIAA Tourney
The Cougars defeated South Plainfield in the final round on Friday.

The Cranford Cougars defeated South Plainfield 5-1 in Friday’s North Jersey Section 2 Group 3 of the NJSIAA Baseball Tournament earning the team their second sectional title in a row.
Cranford, ranked No. 2 in The Star Ledger’s Top 20, ended the tournament with a record of 23-1.
Senior Ryan Williamson pitched a complete-game victory, according to NJ.com. He surrendered one run on seven hits, walked one and struck out four.
Matt Ravitier finished the game 2-for-2 with three RBI and Williamson hit a triple in the third inning, NJ.com reported.
This is the second sectional championship for Cranford in a row and third in over four seasons.
Cranford takes on Paramus in the Group 3 semi-final this Tuesday.
