Driver Dies After Crashing Into Church In Union County

He also hit two parked cars.

ELIZABETH, NJ — A driver is dead after crashing into a church gate on Tuesday.

The man was found unresponsive at around 4:30 p.m. after hitting two parked cars before crashing into Glorious Hope Missionary Baptist Church at 88-90 First St. Officials believe he had a medical episode.

He was taken to Trinitas Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead, according to an Elizabeth spokesperson.

The driver was the only one in the car. No other injuries or damage to the building were reported.
