Get Your Homemade Ice Cream At Vanilla Bean Creamery In Cranford

After closing in late December, the beloved ice cream shop is opening up once again for the 2022 season, serving all the classic flavors.

CRANFORD, NJ — With warmer weather around the corner, Vanilla Bean Creamery is opening up its doors to Cranford ice cream-lovers once again.

The creamery officially opened Friday at noon for the 2022 season after closing shop temporarily in late December. According to Downtown Cranford, owner Ralph Kopelman is excited to be back serving up scoops of homemade ice cream.

In the announcement on Facebook, Kopelman said the store will start out selling classic flavors and then begin rolling out seasonal flavors when the weather stars warming up. He said Vanilla Bean will serve Irish Cream for St. Patrick's Day, as well as Easter ice cream cakes.

Kopelman told Downtown Cranford the most popular flavors among Cranford residents are classics like Cookie Monster, vanilla and strawberry. He said S'moreo is also a popular one, which was released when Kopelman added Oreos to their S'mores flavor.

According to the shop's website, Kopelman took over Vanilla Bean in 2010 after pursuing his passion for dessert. As he used to serve ice cream and egg creams at his father's old-fashioned candy store in Queens, NY as a teen, he wanted to get back to his roots after spending 25 years in the men's clothing industry.
