The following obituary was shared for Helen Fowler, a Cranford resident who passed away at 85:
Devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and lifelong Yankees fan Helen (Emanuel) Fowler, 85, passed away on Sept. 29, 2015, at the Chelsea in Fanwood, N.J.
Born and raised in New Rochelle, N.Y., she was a resident of Cranford, N.J., for 53 years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Helen’s Church, Lamberts Mill Rd. and Rahway Ave., Westfield, N.J. Interment is in in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. Mrs. Fowler was a former member of the Cranford First Aid Squad and a lifelong Yankees fan, with the exception of Alex Rodriguez. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years, Charles Fowler, and by her three brothers, Charles, Robert, and Harold Emanuel. Surviving are two loving children, Charles Fowler (Doreen Yanik) and Kathleen Baer (George); five beloved grandchildren, Declan and Shayne Fowler, and Jeffrey, Kimberly, and Robert Baer, and her devoted sister, Mary Kohloff.
