The New Jersey Turnpike has been shutdown in both directions along the area around milepost 97, near exit 13, due to a tractor-trailer fire under the Wood Avenue overpass in Linden.

Police say they do not know what caused the tractor-trailer to catch fire in the southbound lane of the Turnpike’s truck lane, but first responders are currently working to fight the blaze. Carmen Field, a driver stuck in the traffic, told nj.com that it looks like parts of the overpass might have collapsed.

The crash was reported just before 11 a.m. However, it is still unclear whether the driver, or anyone else, was injured.

According to NBC New York, northbound drivers can expect delays stretched back toward the Garden State Parkway and southbound drivers can expect delays as far back as Interstate 280.

The Wood Avenue bridge has also been shut down and police are attempting to divert that traffic through Tremley Point. Since the bridge is closed, those currently in the industrial area on the other side are stranded, according to My Central Jersey.
