Man Hit By Driver Trying To Cross 8 Lanes In Union County, Police Say
The crash was near an intersection in Linden.

LINDEN, NJ — A 67-year-old man was hit by a driver who was trying to cross multiple lanes on Monday, Linden Police said.
At around 5:30 p.m., officers responded to W. Edgar Road near the intersection with Smith Street for a report of a serious vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.
The Linden man was seriously injured, authorities said, and treated on scene. He was then taken to Newark University Hospital in critical condition.

The driver, a 20-year-old resident of Edison, was not hurt. It appears, according to Linden Police, that he was trying to cross eight lanes of traffic.
