Man Sentenced For 2021 Deadly Shooting In Union Co.

A man was found shot dead in his car.

ELIZABETH, NJ — A man from Newark was sentenced on Oct. 24 in connection to a 2021 deadly shooting in Elizabeth.

Jefferson Louis, 28, was sentenced to 50 years in state prison for first-degree murder, second-degree unlawful posssession of a weapon, and second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose.

On August 4, 2021, Elizabeth Police responded to Jefferson Park for a report of shots fired. They found Archeley Brizard, 26 of Elizabeth, dead in his car with multiple gunshot wounds.

Louis was convicted on Aug. 15 and must serve at least 85% of his sentence before being eligible for parole.
