Poke Restaurant Opens In Downtown Cranford, Replaces Craven BBQ

Hungry for salmon bowls, ramen or dumplings? Get ready to meet Cranford's newest eatery.

CRANFORD, NJ - Cranford’s new poke restaurant opened its doors on Monday, offering up an array of shrimp and salmon bowls, ramen, dumplings and more.

Located at 22 Eastman Street at the site of the former Craven BBQ, Poke House opened with a Downtown Cranford ribbon cutting attended by owners Joyce and Tony, Mayor Brian Andrews, Commissioner Kathleen Prunty, DMC Board member Dennis Concha, Cranford Area Chamber of Commerce President Andis Kalnins, and property manager Jack Hahn, alongside Joyce and Tony’s family.

“Poke bowls are a healthy and light option that are great to have when the weather is warm,” Joyce, who previously owned a Cantonese restaurant with Tony, told Downtown Cranford. “I first tried poke bowls when I visited California and fell in love with them. The poke bowls we serve here are filled with fresh vegetables and delicious proteins, and topped with homemade sauces.”

Poke House menu highlights include special poke bowls (like the Hawaii bowl with ahi tuna and crab meat) and build-your-own bowls with spicy tuna, grilled chicken, salmon, shrimp tempura and tofu. Non-protein toppings include edamame, pineapple, mango, cherry tomato, seaweed salad and more. Other menu offerings include ramen (chicken, pork, shrimp, seafood, and vegetable), as well as edamame, dumplings and shumai.

“I was so excited to bring this food to Cranford,” Joyce added, per Downtown Cranford. “We’ve already met other Cranford business owners who have all been so welcoming and friendly. A number of people also stopped in as we were getting the space ready and let us know how excited they were for us to open. We’re so happy that we found a space in Cranford and were able to join this wonderful community.”
