Woman Shot In Wendy's Parking Lot, 2 Arrested In Union County

The two men were arrested following a nearly month-long manhunt.

LINDEN, NJ — Two men have been arrested after a 35-year-old woman was shot in the parking lot of a Wendy's fast-food restaurant, Linden Police say.

Jevan Carrie, 19 of Linden, is charged with second-degree conspiracy to commit aggravated assault. Jeyrin Munoz, 18 of Linden, is charged with second-degree aggravated assault, weapons possession, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and fourth-degree aggravated assault by pointing a firearm.

On Sept. 5, Linden Police responded to the Wendy's at 709 South Wood Ave. and found a woman who was shot. She was treated on scene and then taken to Newark University Hospital with non-critical injuries.

The men were identified as suspects two weeks after the shooting and were arrested separately on Oct. 4. They are now both being held in the Essex County Jail.

Detectives believe the men planned the shooting together and targeted the parked car in the lot.

“Thanks to the resourcefulness, dedication, and perseverance of our Officers and Detectives, every single crime involving gun violence committed this year has resulted in an arrest,” added Linden Police Chief David Hart.
