Roadwork Altering Traffic In Cranford Through Thursday

Water utility work is affecting multiple streets.

CRANFORD, NJ — Traffic along multiple streets in Cranford is adjusting over the next few days due to water main and meter replacements.

Along with road closings and detours, residents should be prepared for loud noise and work lights from Tuesday, Sept. 16 to Thursday, Sept. 18. Starting Monday, crews will also be in the area performing test pits at the curb.

Roadways affected (7 p.m. to 5 a.m.):

  • Springfield Avenue from Penn Road to Doering Way (closed during evening hours)
  • Romore Place (limited access)
  • Park Drive (limited access)

The Township of Cranford says that NJ American Water estimates the entire project to be completed within three weeks. Weather permitting, there will be no road closures beyond Thursday.
