Dog Scares Away Thieves Inside Occupied Home In Cranford: Police
A BMW was also reportedly broken into on Sunday.
CRANFORD, NJ — A dog scared away thieves who broke into an occupied home in Cranford on Sunday, said Cranford Police.
At around 5 a.m., Cranford Police went to Glenwood Road for a report of a home that was broken into with people inside at the time.
Three suspects had been walking around the house when a dog began to bark. They then left the house and drove away in a BMW.

The residents also had a BMW parked on their property at the time, but no attempted theft of that vehicle was reported.
Police then spotted what appeared to be the suspects' BMW along Columbia Avenue shortly after. The driver sped away when officers arrived, said police.

Someone who lives along Dunham Avenue later reported that their BMW was broken into overnight. Through surveillance footage, the suspects' dark BMW appears to also pull up to their vehicle.
