Threat Via SnapChat Causes Cranford Schools To Boost Police Presence
Police determined the threat was not credible. Out of caution, there will be an increased police presence throughout the district Thursday.
CRANFORD, NJ — Due to a threatening SnapChat post that was published late Wednesday evening, Cranford Public Schools announced there will be an increased police presence throughout the district on Thursday.
According to Superintendent Scott Rubin's email Thursday morning, the district was made aware of the threat at approximately 10 p.m. Wednesday, and the school immediately reported the incident to the Cranford Police Department. Police identified the source of the post and determined that the threat was not credible.
Cranford Police will still conduct a follow-up investigation on the incident.

"We cannot thank the police enough for all they do to help keep the school community as well as the community at large safe," the Office of the Superintendent wrote.
