TV Crew Drawn to Lights on Munsee Drive

This holiday light extravaganza is an annual tradition for the Sanzos.

Motorists can see Bill and Carol Sanzo's Munsee Drive home from the Garden State Parkway. The Sanzos have been told by Newark Airport officials that pilots and their passengers spot the glow from the skies above Cranford. So it was no huge surprise when a Channel 4 broadcast crew showed up on the Sanzo's doorstep looking for lights.

Holiday decoration enthusiast Bill Sanzo took to stringing his front yard, and part of the neighbor's, with lights at least 20 years ago. He and his wife, Carol, have lived in Cranford for over 25.

Their hard work was featured Tuesday at 5 p.m. live on LX New York, a one-hour Channel 4 show that broadcasts celebrity news, fashion, lifestyle, cooking and other features. Neighbors gathered in the Sanzo's driveway, lawn and across the street to watch and participate in the filming.

If you decide to drive by to get a glimpse of the Sanzo house, be sure to drop off some change or a wad of cash. The Sanzos are hoping to lure some extra dollars for Autism Speaks, an organization that advocates for autism research and awareness. A box on top of their mailbox, lit by a lawn full of lights, asks those uplifted by the holiday sight to give back.
