Witches Night Out, 'Howloween' Parade Coming To Cranford
Cranford is offering several Halloween-themed events this month for the whole family to participate in. That includes pets, as well.
CRANFORD, NJ — This Halloween, Cranford is hosting a plethora events for the whole family. And yes, that includes dogs too.
The 15th annual "Scarecrow Stroll," a "Howl-o-ween Parade" and "Witches Night Out" are just a few of the spooktacular events being held in Cranford this month.
Scarecrow Stroll
Starting off with the Scarecrow Stroll, local families, organizations and Cranford businesses are invited to line the downtown streets with their own scarecrow creations. This is one of Cranford's biggest events, and prizes will be awarded to the top scarecrows in each category.

The categories are as follows:
- Children: ages 10 & under
- Children: ages 11-17
- Adults & Families: age 18+
- Cranford Schools/Organizations
- Cranford Businesses
The stroll will take place from Oct. 14 to 31. The deadline to register for the competition already passed, but everyone is invited to stroll through town and admire the various scarecrows.

Howl-O-Ween
Dog-owners will love this fall event on Oct. 22. The Howl-O-Ween Parade will be held at 1 p.m. at Eastman Plaza where residents can dress their pups in costumes and take part in the parade.
Prizes will follow the parade at 2 p.m. This event is hosted by Downtown Cranford and sponsored by Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming Cranford-Westfield, The Barker Lounge- Cranford and Julie Murphy of Coldwell Banker Realty.

Residents can also register the day of the event. Participating dogs should be friendly, vaccinated, licensed and leashed, according to Downtown Cranford.
Witches Night Out
Sponsored by Cranford Woman's Club and Downtown Cranford, all witchy residents are invited for a fun evening of gathering, shopping and maybe a dance or two.
Tickers are being sold in two tiers:
Broomstick Rate: $15 includes a coupon book good for special offers at local retailers, a witch hat to decorate for the hat decorating contest, 1 Tricky Tray Ticket and Scavenger Hunt instructions.
Tricky Tray will take place at Eastman Plaza (the clock) or Venue 104 if it rains. The event begins at 5 p.m.
Cauldron Rate: $30 includes all of the ingredients in the Broomstick Rate plus one service. Service choices include tarot reader, palm reader, psychic, or henna art.
These tickets are guaranteed to sell out, so Downtown Cranford says to make haste and purchase before the moon rides high again in the sky.
