Teen E-Bike Rider Killed In Crash

An Egg Harbor teen was killed Thursday night in a crash involving an electric bike and a motor vehicle, Somers Point police said Saturday.

The 14-year-old boy was riding the e-bike when he was hit by a vehicle shortly before 8 p.m. He was taken to the Atlantic Care Trauma Center by Egg Harbor Township Rescue then flown to Cooper Trauma Center, where he succumbed to his injuries, authorities said.

Man Shoots, Injures 5-Year-Old Daughter

A Middlesex County man has been charged after he shot his 5-year-old daughter, authorities said Friday. The child is currently in stable condition.

The incident took place on July 7, around 11:06 p.m. Perth Amboy police responded to a home on Cortlandt Street following the report of shots fired in a home, County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said.

On arrival, officers found a 5-year-old girl who sustained a gunshot wound. She was taken to a nearby hospital where she was treated for her injuries.

5-Year-Old Drowns In Pool

A 5-year-old died in a drowning incident in Wayne on Friday.

Witnesses told police that a five-year-old was found floating, unresponsive, in a residential pool after leaving his residence at around 5:30 p.m. He was not accompanied by an adult, according to authorities.

1 Killed, 2 Injured In Highway Crash

A Paterson man died and two others were injured early Sunday when a Tesla rear-ended a Toyota on I-80, causing the Toyota to strike three people standing in the roadway after an initial collision, according to media reports.

Clarence Fennel, 36, and two others had exited their Cadillac following a crash with the Toyota near milepost 60.2 around 12:30 a.m., NJ.com reported.

When the Tesla hit the Toyota from behind, the impact sent the Toyota into the three pedestrians. Fennel was killed, while the Cadillac's driver suffered minor injuries and a passenger sustained moderate injuries, the Bergen Record said.

Two Teens Injured In New Brunswick Shooting

Two teens were injured in a shooting that took place in New Brunswick on Saturday morning, according to media reports.

A 16-year-old was shot in the leg, and a 17-year-old was shot in the arm. Both are currently in stable condition, reported News12NJ.
