Bear of the Week: Tom Krapf

Centerfielder Tom Krapf had a stellar week and is the first Patch Bear of the Week.

Welcome to East Brunswick Patch’s Bear of the Week, a weekly look at some of the standout athletes in East Brunswick schools.

This week’s player, nominated by the district Athletic Department, is senior center fielder Tom Krapf.

“Tom has the unique ability to get his teammates to play at a higher level,” said Frank Noppenberger, Supervisor of Athletics and Physical Education. “His baseball charisma is contagious to the players.”

Tom was named Bear of the Week after he hit .406 with five stolen bases and scored the tying run last week against Old Bridge in the 12th inning. This is his third year on the varsity squad. He’ll play at Rowan University next year after graduation.

Tom has been playing baseball since he was four or five and is following in the footsteps of his older siblings, Keri, a former EBHS softball player, and Billy, a baseball player.
