East Brunswick Man Used Translation App To Tell Cops He Killed Wife: Affidavit
Authorities found Marsail Botros' body with stab wounds and a knife next to her, the complaint said.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — The affidavit of probable cause has shed more light on the East Brunswick homicide that took place on Friday.
On Friday, at 12:14 p.m., Ashraf Tawfik, 60, of East Brunswick, walked into the East Brunswick Police Precinct and told cops that he killed his wife, Middlesex County prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said.
Tawfik used a translation app on his cellphone to communicate with officers and told them he killed his wife and was at the precinct to surrender, according to the affidavit.

Officers then rushed to the home on Yorktown Road and found Marsail Botros, 58, of East Brunswick, with stab wounds.
Botros was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities found a knife next to Botros, the complaint said.

Tawfik was arrested without incident and charged with first-degree murder and third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
Tawfik is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center.
