East Brunswick Scheduled For Mosquito Control Spraying Wednesday
If weather conditions prevent the operation, it will be rescheduled for Thursday.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — The Middlesex County Mosquito Extermination Commission will conduct aerial spraying operations in East Brunswick on Wednesday evening to control adult mosquito populations, weather permitting.
The truck-mounted Ultra Low Volume (ULV) spray mission is scheduled for Wednesday, from 6 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. If weather conditions prevent the operation, it will be rescheduled for Thursday.
The treatment area is located north of Tices Lane and west of NJ-18A. Residents can view a detailed map of the spray zone on the county's website through a Google Maps link provided in the official notice.

The mosquito control operation will use pesticides recommended by the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station at Rutgers University. These include Malathion, Etofenprox, Prallethrin-Sumithrin, and Deltamethrin products, all applied according to manufacturer labeling and state regulations.
Dr. Deepak Matadha, Superintendent of the Middlesex County Mosquito Extermination Commission, oversees the program. The treatments comply with New Jersey Pesticide Control Code sections 9.10 and 9.15.

Safety Precautions for Residents
County officials recommend several precautions to minimize exposure during spraying operations:
During Treatment:
- Stay indoors with windows closed
- Set air conditioners to non-vent mode (closed to outside air)
- Turn off window fans
- Bring pets, pet food, water dishes, clothing, and children's toys inside
After Treatment:
- Avoid direct contact with wet surfaces
- Keep children away from sprayed areas until completely dry (approximately one hour)
- If spray contacts eyes or skin, flush immediately with water
Residents experiencing health effects from spraying should consult their doctor. Those with chemical sensitivities or preexisting health conditions may want to speak with their physician or local health department before the treatment.
