East Brunswick School Aid Numbers to Remain Flat

The district is slated to receive a total of $17.6 million in state aid for the 2014 school year.

Despite the shadow of sequester cuts looming over education, East Brunswick is slated to receive about the same amount of state aid as last year, according to a report on NJ Spotlight.

East Brunswick's school budget for the 2014 school year will be padded with a proposed $17.6 million in total state aid, the same amount that was provided in 2013.

The NJ Department of Education has promised $8.7 billion in state aid to the state's 580 school districts.

The overall increase was one percent, but only 300 districts saw any worthwhile increases in their aid, according to the report.
