East Brunswick Woman Celebrates 100th Birthday

Anne Steinhart celebrates hitting the century mark at Chelsea in East Brunswick.

The Chelsea at East Brunswick celebrated the 100th birthday of Anne Steinhart, a three-year resident of the assisted living facility located on Cranbury Road on Nov. 15.

Steinhart was a lifelong resident of Brooklyn, NY, until she moved to the Chelsea to be closer to her family. She was joined at the Chelsea by her nephew, Dr. Arnold Pelofsky of East Brunswick, his wife Loretta, his son Eric and and granddaughter Macaria.

Dr. Pelofsky presided over a photo essay detailing his aunt’s life in Brooklyn and her marriage to her late husband Abe, a holocaust survivor. Steinhart enjoyed birthday cake with her many Chelsea friends and was read a letter of congratulations sent by Gov. Chris Christie.
