The Suburban Artist Guild of Central New Jersey (SAG) will hold its next monthly meeting at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 11, at the East Brunswick Public Library, Jean Walling Civic Center on Ryders Lsne.
Tom Rutledge, an award winning artist, will conduct a charcoal drawing demonstration and mini workshop for SAG members. He attended Cooper Union and began working as an illustrator. Tom was drafted into the Army and sent to Vietnam, where he was severely wounded. It took years of physical therapy on his hands and arms for him to be able to resume work as an artist. Rutledge has done illustrations for book and magazine covers, advertisements and architectural renderings for national and international companies. He has won numerous awards for his beautiful artwork. He teaches painting and drawing and often judges art exhibits.
