Girl Scouts Celebrate 100 Birthday

Local Girl Scouts will have a ceremony tonight (Monday) at the Municipal Pond.

More than 3.2 million Girl Scouts across the country and 50 American women alumna will mark the 100 year anniversary of the group with a variety of ceremonies and events today (Monday, March 12).

Locally, Girl Scouts groups will gather at 7 p.m. at the for songs and a friendship circle. The circle is a Girl Scout tradition in which all Scouts present cross their arms, take each others hands and make a wish. After the celebration, the Girl Scouts will be going to the Township Council meeting to lead the flag ceremony and receive a proclamation from the Mayor and Township Council.
