Middlesex County Seeks Public Input For Community Development Needs

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ - The Middlesex County Division of Housing, Community Development, and Social Services is seeking the input of County residents on their community development needs and priorities for the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan.

Community input is vital to help outline how participating municipalities in the Middlesex County Consortia will use Community Development Block Grant, HOME Investment Partnerships, and Emergency Solutions Grant funds over the next five years.

Residents can give their inputs via a survey. The survey closes on Friday, Feb. 28.

Towns included in the survey are East Brunswick, South Brunswick, Edison, Metuchen, Cranbury, Helmetta, Milltown and South Plainfield

The Housing, Community Development and Social Services Division administers three housing programs funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD): Section 8 Rental Assistance; Community Development Block Grant (CDBG); and HOME Investment Partnerships.

All three programs are designed primarily to benefit lower-income persons and households, and most of the rules governing them are set by HUD.

The programs help pay families' rent, create new affordable housing, and provide needed services.
