“In the past six months, there has been a lot of turmoil in the community regarding our children’s education. I want to make sure that I’m accessible to every parent of East Brunswick. I will work with our school board members and the school administration in unity and harmony and ensure we make the best decisions for our children,” Goswami said.

“I’m committed to working for East Brunswick residents and their children so that they can be proud of our schools and community.”

James, a professor at the City University of New York, deals with budgeting and legislation in her work as a legislative representative for the university.

She said she hoped to bring her expertise to the school district.

“I believe volunteerism is at the heart of all we do here. I moved to East Brunswick with my son for the blue ribbon schools and I’m so glad I did,” James said.

“I really hope I can be a voice for the community and I want you to know that I’m always here to listen, and help if I can.”

James also thanked the teachers for their work.

“I’ve been in many classrooms and know how hard the job is. Educators don’t do it for the money but for the kid who remembers you 15 years down the line even though they never came back and said thank you. My most respect is for you,” she said.
