Police Identify Pedestrian Struck & Killed In East Brunswick

The driver was uninjured and remained at the scene of the crash, police said.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — A Pedestrian who was struck and killed on Route 18 in East Brunswick last week, has been identified by police.

Margarito Jorge Garcia, 57, from East Brunswick, was struck and killed on the night of Wednesday, Feb. 19, police said.

Around 11:57 p.m., East Brunswick Police responded to the intersection of Route 18 northbound and South Woodland Drive for the report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.

Garcia was critically injured and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured and remained at the scene of the crash.

Patrolman Patrick Lem of the East Brunswick Police Department Traffic Safety Section is conducting the crash investigation.
