Police: Middlesex County Man Found Fatally Stabbed in Apartment

The Perth Amboy man, 26, was found dead in his apartment on Sunday evening, police and county officials announced.

Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Chief Benjamin Ruiz of the Perth Amboy Police Department announced today that detectives are actively investigating the fatal stabbing of a city man who was found dead in his apartment Sunday evening.

Jean Carlos Morel, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:40 p.m. on December 7 after police were dispatched to his second-floor apartment on Smith Street in Perth Amboy.

An autopsy by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office determined today that the victim had been fatally stabbed.

No arrests have been made, but an investigation is continuing.
