Figueroa's position at the school district was eliminated earlier this year due to budgetary constraints and a reduction in state aid.
Incumbent Barbara Reiss is seeking reelection. Pankaj Goswami and Heather James were appointed to the BOE on May 23, to fill in the seats left vacant after two resignations. They too are seeking reelection in November.
