A woman was shot in the face with a crossbow at a Saddle Brook pet shop on Monday, according to media reports and the business owner.

Sword-Wielding Man Shot By Police

A man armed with swords was shot by police in Wayne. The incident occurred Friday night when Wayne police went to a home in the Birch Court neighborhood for a welfare check.

The man was hospitalized and was in a critical but stable condition.

NJ Teen Charged In Murder Of 2 NY Women

A 19-year-old Bergen County resident was charged with murder in the death of two women in Spring Valley, New York, police said.

Police found two women inside an apartment with significant head injuries on Saturday night, Patch reported.

Man Killed In Hit-&-Run On GSP

A Plainfield resident was killed when he was struck by several vehicles on Garden State Parkway, in Monmouth County on Friday, NJ State Police said.

Around 5:58 p.m. on Friday, a Honda Pilot was traveling Southbound on GSP express lanes near milepost 112.8. While the vehicle was in motion, the front seat passenger exited the car and was struck by multiple unknown vehicles that failed to stop at the scene, NJSP said.

A 33-year-old man sustained fatal injuries.

Driver Crashes On Boardwalk

A driver caused extensive damage to the Island Heights Boardwalk when they crashed into it on Sunday. Around 1:18 a.m. on Sunday, responders were dispatched to a call for a vehicle that was smoking after being involved in an accident on River Avenue.

On arrival, crews found a vehicle that had lost control and driven up onto the boardwalk, causing extensive damage to a portion of the boardwalk before crashing into and knocking over a street light, the fire department said.
