$300K to Be Borrowed for Florham Park's Storm Expenses
Emergency appropriation can be paid off over five years.

The Florham Park Borough Council authorized an emergency appropriation for Superstorm Sandy expenses at its meeting Thursday night.
Florham Park Administrator William Huyler said the borough plans to borrow $300,000 to cover storm expenses, such as employee overtime, cleanup and equipment costs, which would be paid back over a period of five years.
Emergency appropriations for storm expenses were authorized by the state, he said.

Another approximately $60,000 in storm-related expenses is being covered with available funds in this year's budget.
The borough expects, 75 percent, or about $270,000, of the total storm expenses to be covered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, though it does not know when it would receive the funds.

Huyler said he recently met with FEMA to go over receiving the Superstorm Sandy funds, as well as $200,000 the borough still expects to receive from Tropical Storm Irene and last year's October snow storm. It was not known why the funds have not been received yet.
