Athletic Foundation Coffeehouse, Council Meeting This Week

Florham Park Council Meeting: Work session is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and the regular meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday in borough hall.

Coffeehouse: The Florham Park Athletic Foundation will host a pre-Thanksgiving Coffee House at the Florham Park Public Library on Wednesday from 6 to 10 p.m. The evening will include a variety of musical performances by local singers and instrumentalists, as well as poetry readings. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate. and pastries will be served. Waiter service, courtesy of Athletic Foundation volunteers, will be available.

The Public Library is located at 107 Ridgedale Avenue, within the Municipal Complex. Ample free parking is available in the adjacent Municipal Pool parking lot.

All proceeds from the evening will benefit the Athletic Foundation, which is tasked with raising funds to support athletic programs and projects in Florham Park, such as the Elm Street Recreation Complex. The planned multi-use park will include walking and biking trails; lacrosse, football, and soccer fields; baseball and softball diamonds; a playground; a dog park; a community garden; a new Community Center; and other active and passive recreational components.

The Athletic Foundation is seeking musicians and poets to donate their time and perform at the Coffee House. In order to perform, please email Athletic Foundation president Robert Ramsthaler at rramsthaler@gmail.com with your name, age, style of music/poetry, type of instrument, and proposed length of set. Acoustic sets only, please. Performers will be responsible for their own small speakers or amplifiers, if needed.
