Council Meetings, Fields Presentation, Garden Club This Week

A look at the week ahead in East Hanover and Florham Park.

East Hanover Township Council: The governing body is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the municipal building. Four new police officers will be sworn in, and two officers will be promoted, according to the meeting agenda. A presentation by Carol Grossi, superintendent of the Hanover Park Regional High School District, on the referendum for athletic refurbishments at Hanover Park and Whippany Park high schools also is on the agenda.

Garden Club: The Florham Park Garden club is scheduled to meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Florham Park Library. The meeting will include a program titled "Down and Dirty—How to Do it in the Shade" by horticultural lecturer Janet Schulz, whose garden has been listed in The Garden Conservancy's "Open Days" Directory. The lecture will focus on design tips and plants suitable for the shady areas of your garden. Handouts will be provided and the program is free.

Florham Park Borough Council: The governing body has a work session scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday. A public hearing and final vote on a bond ordinance for the Elm Street Recreation Complex is scheduled for that time, according to the copy of the proposal posted on the borough website.
