1. Woman Dies in Fiery Brooklake Road Crash

A 70-year-old Florham Park woman died in a one-car accident on Brooklake Road in Florham Park on Wednesday morning after the vehicle she was driving went off the road and struck a utility pole near Beechwood Road, police said.

A 33-year-old East Hanover woman was charged with assault by auto and DWI after she allegedly struck another vehicle head-on on Ridgedale Avenue in the the township on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

A Range Rover worth $100,000 was stolen from the Target parking lot last week, according to East Hanover Police.

A Florham Park man has been sentenced to five years flat time in state prison after previously pleading guilty to arranging a sexual encounter with an undercover detective posing as a 14-year-old girl, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor James P. McClain announced on Thursday.

7. Man Convicted of Endangering Child Accused of Sex Assault

An East Hanover man convicted in 2008 of endangering the welfare of a child is now accused of sexually assaulting a young girl on numerous occasions within the township, according to an arrest affidavit.

8. Student Accused of Arson for St. Elizabeth Dorm Fire

An 18-year-old student at the College of St. Elizabeth in Florham Park has been charged with arson for allegedly setting two rolls of toilet paper on fire Wednesday night in a dorm bathroom on campus, authorities announced Friday.

9. Woman Killed in Crash a Retired Special Ed Teacher

A Florham Park woman who died in a one-car crash on North Passaic Avenue in Chatham last week worked as a special education teacher for many years and had three children and five grandchildren, according to her obituary.

An East Hanover man who went to check on footsteps his sister heard Sunday evening saw an intruder dressed in black and wearing a ski mask run down a staircase and out the front door of their home, police said.
