Fields Special Election Resolution Approved

Hanover Park Regional school board unanimously approved resolution 'providing for a special school district election to be held on March 12.'

A resolution providing for a March 12 special election for voters to consider whether the district may borrow money for the proposed field renewal project was unanimously approved at Wednesday's Hanover Park Regional school board meeting.

The proposed athletic complex project, expected to cost a total of approximately $17.5 million for various improvements at Hanover Park and Whippany Park high schools, needs voter approval and will be up for vote in a special election scheduled for 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. March 12.

The average homeowner in East Hanover, Florham Park and Hanover would pay about $60 a year over 20 years to pay off money the district hopes to borrow.
