Cops: Teen Crashed Mom's Car Into Utility Pole
The car lost a wheel and part of the suspension, but no injuries were reported

A teenage driver who allegedly took his mother's car without permission crashed it into a utility pole on Wildwood Avenue, according to an incident report released by police.
The driver, a male juvenile resident of East Hanover, said he was driving north on Wildwood Avenue when he lost control of the car and struck a curb and then a utility pole, according to the report.
The investigation revealed the car uprooted a portion of the pole and caused the transformer to fall to the ground, according to the report.

Then the car continued across the lawn of 8 Wildwood Ave. and onto the driveway of 6 Wildwood Ave., where it lost a front suspension spring and dumped fluid on the pavement, police said.
The vehicle then drove back onto the roadway and onto the other side of the street on three wheels before it came to a stop abotu 150 ft. from the initial impact, according to the report.

Patrolman Brian Stevens of the East Hanover Police Department responded to 5 Wildwood Ave. on report of a car crashed into a utility pole at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28.
Stevens found a black Kia SUV with heavy damage to the front passenger side and the front passenger side wheel and suspension missing, according to the police report.
Two juveniles, both male, were standing next to the car. One identified himself as the driver, police said, and neither reported any injuries.
The keys for the car were taken from the purse of the driver's mother, who told police she did not allow her son to take the vehicle, according to the report.
The juvenile was arrested and charged with reckless driving, driving without a license, taking property without the owner's consent and taking a car without the owner's consent, police said. He was released to the custody of his aunt, according to the report.
