New Aerial Ladder Truck May Be Coming to East Hanover

Town Council to vote Wednesday night on $850K bond ordinance for the purchase.

The East Hanover Town Council will vote on the introduction of four ordinances when they meet Wednesday, including one appropriating a bond of $850,000 to purchase a new aerial ladder truck.

According to Kenny Huelbig, the township's CFO, East Hanover received a 2011 FEMA Firefighters Assistance grant of $712,500 to help pay for the ladder truck. This sum is included in the bond ordinance, and the township must bond about $95,000 for the remaining costs.

Another ordinance up for initial introduction will establish a table of organization among township employees, and a range of salaries for employees.
