On Saturday you can join the national bone marrow registry, Be The Match,Β by getting swabbed at theΒ Β from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration paperwork will need to be filled out, and all information is kept confidential, according to organizers.Β
Maisano started treatments for a bone marrow disorder that resulted in scarring of the bone marrow, called Myelofibrosis, according to a flyer. Now her marrow is not functioning properly and a transplant is needed.
